Mazzega Murano is one of the most important names in 20th-century Italian lighting design.

The original glassworks was founded in 1929 by Romano Mazzega in Murano, Venice
After WWII, the company evolved into AV Mazzega (1946), becoming a major producer of artistic lighting.

In the 1960s–70s, Mazzega became internationally recognized for bold, modern designs using thick, sculptural glass
The company collaborated with renowned designers like Carlo Nason, helping define Murano’s modern aesthetic.

Their signature style includes:

Heavy, textured glass
Organic shapes and embedded color
Chrome or metal structures contrasting with luminous glass

Murano glass itself is entirely hand-blown on the Venetian island of Murano using centuries-old techniques, making each piece unique.

Mazzega lighting is now highly collectible and considered a key part of Italian mid-century modern design history.
