Petržalská pláž was a project of a new beach bar centered around Veľký Draždiak lake, a favorite spot located in Bratislava-Petržalka, Slovakia.
The whole area is situated right behind Tennis Club Slávia Právnik, a place that has developed its own identity over the years due to its location – the lake alone and the surroundings of Petržalka, the largest borough in Slovakia typical for its apartment blocks from Communist era.

Petržalská pláž was a project of a new beach bar centered around Veľký Draždiak lake, a favorite spot located in Bratislava-Petržalka, Slovakia.
The whole area is situated right behind Tennis Club Slávia Právnik, a place that has developed its own identity over the years due to its location – the lake alone and the surroundings of Petržalka, the largest borough in Slovakia typical for its apartment blocks from Communist era.
02. Visual Identity
Maintaining the identity of the beach bar’s surroundings, we designed the logo for Petržalská pláž depicting the shapes of a tennis club’s hall, apartment blocks behind it and the structure of the waves of the lake in front – the image one can observe when looking at the whole beach bar’s area from the lake’s perspective.
The unique location of Petržalská pláž was crucial for the branding strategy and therefore we used it as a source for all elements the visual identity design consists of. Besides the stylized image of the place alone, which is the dominant part of the logo, we decided to work with a color palette inspired by some of the colors of Petržalka borough’s buildings – we chose predominantly pastel, light tones. We used the light, modern font for the logo’s headline, to neutralize the old-fashioned style, resulting in a fresh modern look.

03. Exterior Design
We designed the whole area of the beach bar using the textures, materials and spaces that create harmony between the area and the natural surroundings.
The chosen materials were proposed in order to create a relaxed atmosphere, while taking into account the allocated budget and the durability of the material, given its proximity to the lake.

Given the multifunctional nature of a project – not only a beach bar, but also a sport area, a stage and a sand beach, we designed all elements of the area using the space in the most effective way, while keeping the place spacious and comfortable.
We’re sure that the bar with an entertainment zone, the beach and the sport area – beach tennis playground, will make the life around the lake more lively and enjoyable.
